Markham see off Sully View at home

Markham were looking to bounce back after a defeat to Cardiff Saracens in the last round of fixtures. The Village started very well and capitalised after good phase play, finishing with a try for Captain Kris Meredith. The Village extended their lead not long after, this time Lewis Hughes with a superb run out wide before passing to Tyler Coopey who is on great form for the Village, Markham now leading 12-0. The away side settled but never really got into the game in the first half, and the Village took a comfortable lead into the half time 12-0.

Markham continued their dominance early in the second half, and the Village added a third try through fly half Grant Pearce who ran a straight line through the heart of the defence, he converted his own try to make the score 19-0. The away side battled back into the game, and Markham conceded many penalties. The ball was recycled well before they scored their first try and reduce the deficit to 19-5. The score appeared to wake up the Village, and they got the bonus point try after a lovely chip forward from Man of the Match Grant Pearce was collected by Dewi Carpenter. To their credit, the away side fought back again and managed to get a penalty try after poor discipline from the Village. The home side saw out the final phases of the game before the referee blew the whistle, a good victory for the Village to get back on track in the league.
